Donald Preston Murray

Donald Preston Murray, 61, a long time resident of Roscommon County, passed away, peacefully, on Thursday May 18, 2023 at The Villa of Rose City.

Donald was born on May 2, 1962 in Grayling, Michigan to Elvin and Flossie (Stacey) Murray. After graduating High School, Donald worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Halliday Sand and Gravel for many years before his retirement. He was a loving father, family member and friend to those close to him. Donald enjoyed fishing, ice fishing and fishing, with a side of hunting. He always loved a cold beverage as well. His free time was taken up by his family, friends, and sneaking off to fish.

Surviving Donald Murray are his Daughter, Diana Jock; Best Friend and Loving Nephew, Arlen Murray; Nephews, Mark Murray, Mike Murray, Nicholes Murray and Steven Clute; Nieces, Deanne Clute, Laura Bell, and Bonny Burmester.  

Donald was preceded in death by his Parents, Elvin and Flossie Murray; and Siblings, Elvin Murray Jr., Les Murray, Maggie Clute, and Rosalie Murray.

Funeral Services for Donald Preston Murray will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 6:00pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, with Robert Wynkoop officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 3:00-5:00pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Donald are asked to be directed to Diana Jock.
