Donna M Hannafius

Donna Marie Hannafius, 75, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Monday April 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Donna was born on April 23, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan to Charles and Ruth (Dunn) Youngs. Donna and her family moved to Houghton Lake from the Lansing area at a young age, and she has enjoyed her life here for nearly 60 years. Donna worked as a cook, and local friendly face, for Randy's for many years before settling into her life as a retiree. In her younger years, she always enjoyed dancing, being a part of her bowling team, and being that friendly and familiar person to all she knew. Family was always her highest priority. This showed through Donna raising her three daughters by herself. Her life changed when she met her life partner, Chuck Parriet. They shared their life together until he passed away in 2013. Along with her family, she loved her animals. Every animal from chickens and ducks, to chipmunks and cats, Donna loved each of them as her own. One special friend who laid very close to her heart was her dog, Lady.

Surviving Donna are her three daughters, Katrina (Edward Godfrey) Youngs of Houghton Lake, MI, Tracy (Larry) Parr of Merritt, MI and Teri (Shane) Sova of Big Rapids, MI; sister, Cheryl Howey of Leesburg, VA, and brother, John Youngs of Houghton Lake; and her Grandchildren, Nicki, Keith, and Shannon Youngs, Samantha Gardner, Zachary and Ryan Youngs, Devon, Elizabeth, Noah and Aaliyah Soltysiak.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Charles Leonard Youngs; mother, Ruth Maxine Youngs; brothers, Leonard, Maynard and Richard Youngs; grandson, Joshua; granddaughter, Mystic; and nephew, Steven. 

No funeral Services for Donna will be held at this time. Memorial contributions in memory of Donna are asked to be directed to the family. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
