Drenda Louise Seyer, age 79 of Lake City, passed away October 26, 2024 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.
Drenda was born in Flint, Michigan on November 22, 1944 to Kenneth and Frances (Walsh) Walters.
She was united in marriage on November 13, 1964 in Harrison, Michigan to Robert L. Seyer. He preceded her in death in 2020.
Drenda graduated from Ainsworth High School in Flint, MI in 1962. After the passing of her eldest daughter she found fullfilment working at Alternative Services providing care to residents living in a group home.
Drenda enjoyed volunteering at her church. Her faith was important to her and she was a cherished friend to many. She loved cooking, baking, crocheting, quilting and reading. Drenda was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lake City
She also loved visiting with her family and friends and especially spending time with her granddaughter Miranda who brought her immense joy and pride. They shared many a walk in the woods and trips to the local ice cream shop.
Drenda will be missed by all who knew and loved her leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
Drenda is survived by her daughter, Ronda (Mark) Hawes of Gaines, a granddaughter, Miranda Hawes and a sister, Deborah (William) Bymaster of Grand Blanc. She is also survived by two sisters in law, Stephanie Seyer-Lambert of Phoenix, AZ and Linda Weeks of Owosso and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, daughter, Kenda Seyer, two brothers, Charles (Joe) Walters and Ed Walters and a sister in law, Katherine Walters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024 at the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lake City with Rev. Michael Janowski officiating.
An hour of visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until services.
Burial will follow in the Lake City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Missaukee Humane Society.
