Evelyn Eunice (Beeman) Moon

LAKE CITY — Evelyn Eunice Moon of Manton passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Belle Oakes Living Center in Lake City. She was 81.

Evelyn was born on March 9, 1937 in Grand Rapids, Mich. to Charles and Hilma (Larson) Beeman. As a young woman, Evelyn worked at the Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. A few years later, she relocated to Manton, Mich. where she started raising her family and spent the next 50 years of her life.

She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. Evelyn liked to make special trips with family and friends to the casino. She was a great cook and will be remembered for her wonderful homemade bread. Evelyn was a proud mother and cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by her six children, Beatrice (David) Roys of Cadillac, John (Lucy) Moon of Cadillac, Sandra VanNortrick of Cadillac, Gloria (Don) Geerlings of Zeeland, David (Audrey) Moon of Manton and Judith Moon of Manton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Beeman, Carol Beeman and Johanna Beeman; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hilma Beeman; her husband, Frank Moon in 2007; siblings, Norma, Nellie, Viola, Margie, Joe, Chuck, Beatrice, Bernard, Richard, Jim and Leonard; and her very best friend and niece, Irene Stafford.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior also at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the nurses and staff at Belle Oakes for their loving care for Evelyn and her family during her struggle with dementia.
