Fred Eugene Goodacre, of Manton, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Plainwell Pines Nursing Center. He was 80 years old.
Fred was born on April 13, 1945, in Cadillac, Michigan, to Ralph and Catherine (Uithol) Goodacre. He was raised on the family farm in Manton alongside his siblings and was a graduate of Manton High School. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Following his service, he began a long career with Caterpillar, Inc., where he worked for 30 years, until his retirement. Fred enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found hunting or fishing. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the quiet moments it provided. Most of all, Fred cherished the time he spent with his family. His children and grandchildren were the center of his life, and he took great pride in the time they shared together.
Fred is survived by his loving children, Catherine Goodacre of Nashville, MI, Ralph Goodacre of Gobles, MI, and Shane Goodacre of Oxford, OH; grandchildren, Nikki Westdorp, Alex Colwell, James Colwell, Timmy and Angie Stevens, and Nicolas Stevens; great-grandchildren, Takodah, Reese, Luna, Burton, Sylvanas, and Bailey; brother, John Goodacre; and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Catherine Goodacre.
