Fredrick "Fred" Kleinert, age 76, of Prudenville passed away on Saturday February 15, 2025 at MyMichigan Medical Center-Midland with his loving wife by his side.
Fred was born on August 21, 1948 in Bay City, Michigan to Earl and Evelyn (Taylor) Kleinert. He married Kayleen Taglauer on December 2, 1972.
Fred was employed at Delphi in Saginaw, MI. During the last nine years of his employment, he was a Union Representative for the UAW. Fred and his wife both retired in June of 2006 and moved to Prudenville.
Fred was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he served as an Elder. He was also involved with Keryx Prison Ministry, Centershot Archery, Houghton Lake Sportsman Club, DNR Hunter Safety Instructor and a volunteer at Camp Fish Tales in Pinconning. He enjoyed bear hunting and anything archery related.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 52 years; Kay Kleinert, sister-in-law; Sandra (Ronald) Ebright, nephew; Jon Ebright of Milford, niece; Kristine Ebright of Holland, nephew; Scott (Aimee Stoltz) Ebright of Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services for Fred will be conducted at 11 am on Monday February 24, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Houghton Lake with Rev. Paul Kruse officiating. Interment will be in Floral Garden Cemetery, Bay City. Visitation will be held on Monday February 24, 2025 from 10 am to 11 am at the church.
