Gary Edward Herrmann

Gary Edward Herrmann, 75, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at home under hospice care.

Gary was born on April 15, 1946 in Hamtramck, Michigan to William and Irene (Szemplenski) Herrmann. Gary worked as a Co-Manager for Chatham and Kroger for many years. Gary always enjoyed Hunting and Fishing with his brothers, and spending quality time with his family.

Surviving Gary are his children; Renee (Edward) Nichols, and Crickett (John) Marks; Gary (Elizabeth) Herrmann, David (Stephanie) Grabski, and Jason Herrmann; siblings, Glenn Herrmann, William Herrmann, Christine Karaczewski, and Sandra Kline; 13 Grand-children, and 1 Great-Grandchild. Gary was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, William (Lucille) Herrmann; Mother and step-father, Irene (Hank) Ratkowski; siblings, Richard and Charles Herrmann, Ron Ladezak, and Geraldine Sobczak.

A visitation for Gary will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home, 6651 W. Houghton Lake Dr. Houghton Lake, MI 48629. Memorial contributions in memory of Gary are asked to be directed to Heartland Hospice. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
