Gloria June (Holcomb) Roberts

Gloria J Roberts, 94, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Friday January 31, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born on March 19, 1930 in  Mt. Morris, Michigan to Frank and Sadie(Tady) Holcomb. Gloria moved to the Houghton Lake area at the age of 17.  On November 13, 1948 in Houghton Lake Heights Gloria was married to Valentine G. "Val" Roberts. The couple spent 60 years together at Houghton Lake before Val passed away in 2008. Gloria was a homemaker for most of her life and a busy mother.  She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and reading. She also had a special enjoyment of camping with the family. Gloria's special love was having time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thank you to DJ from Heartland Hospice who provided Gloria with such special nursing care, and friendship.

Surviving Mrs.Roberts are her daughter, Pam Bartlett of Houghton Lake; son, Terry (Darlene) Roberts of Houghton Lake; grandson, Nathaniel(Marianna) Bartlett of Three Rivers; three granddaughters, Kari(Jacob) Linton of Houghton Lake, Becky (Ben) Lemley of Ada, and Debi (Shawn) Beerens of McBain; seven great grandchildren, Riley, Hannah, Theodore, Grant, Laurdean, Herman, and Sophia; brother, Gordon, Holcomb of Portland, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.  Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Valentine G. "Val"  Roberts; and six siblings. 

Family services for Gloria J. Roberts will be conducted in the spring.  Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Gloria are asked to be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Shriner's Hospitals. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
