Harold Coop Sr. Obituary

Harold  Coop Sr., 79, of  Roscommon passed away on Saturday December 13, 2025 at home with his loving children by his side.

Harold was born on October 11, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to Elijah and Annie (Holt) Coop. Harold was married in Detroit to Patricia Elaine (Nash), who preceded him in death in 1984. In 1992, Harold was married in Detroit to Margaret Eileen (Holley), who preceded him in death in 2014. 

He grew up and resided in the Detroit area and was drafted into the Army in 1966. He served in the Vietnam War as a (SP4(T). Harold had an incredible passion for patriotism and the love of his country.

Upon returning from the war, he was employed by General Motors for many years before retiring. He and Margaret moved to the Higgins Lake area in 2008 and settled into retirement. He had a great love of music and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and being outdoors. He was also involved in bowling, golf, and an occasional casino trip. Harold was surrounded by a large community of wonderful people and was often known as "The Mayor" or "The Legend".

Surviving Mr. Coop are his children: son, Harold Coop, Jr. of Three Rivers; daughter, Sherri (Marty) Henschel of Marcellus;  step son, Vernon Wyeth(Denise) of Three Rivers; step daughter, Cindy Strother of Three Rivers; grandchildren, Keagan Nwokedi, Travis Coop, Megan Qualls, Marshall Henschel III(Danielle), and Austin Henschel; great grandchildren, Royce Nwokedi, Madison Lockwood, Maxton Lockwood, Ayden Henschel, Luka Hartzell, and Huxtin Henschel; sibling, James Coop; and several nieces and nephews.

  Harold was preceded in death by; his parents;  first spouse, Patricia; second spouse, Margaret; step daughter, Laura Wyeth; step son, Walter Wyeth Sr.; siblings, Joyce Coop, Albert Coop, Thelma Umbriet, and Thomas Coop. 

A Celebration of Life Service for Harold  Coop Sr. will be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Harold are asked to be directed to Breast Caner Awareness, at the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 7460 Warren Pkwy Suite 150, Frisco, TX 75034.
