Helen Bosel Obituary

Helen Audrey Bosel, 95, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Saturday January 25, 2025 at home with her loving family at her side.

Helen was born on April 16, 1929 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Albert and Lillian (Nicolai) Socia.She grew up in the Mt. Clemens area where she met Arthur Bosel and they married on November 6, 1948. The couple moved to the Houghton Lake area from Mt. Clemens in 1968.  Helen worked as a retail clerk for Fisher Laundry of Houghton Lake for many years. She was a member of Houghton Lake VFW Post #4034 Auxiliary and had attended the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church and the First Baptist Church of Prudenville.  She enjoyed spending time at the Houghton Lake Senior Center, playing penny bingo and going on the Casino trips.  Her special love was spending time with her family.

Surviving Mrs. Bosel are her two daughters, Sandy (Al) Rosenthal of Houghton Lake, and Nancy (Robert) Godin of New Port Richey, FL; ten grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren.  Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Bosel,  son, Art Bosel Jr.; daughter, Carol Ann Gofran; four sisters; and three brothers. 

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Helen Audrey Bosel will be held from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday April 12, 2025 at the Denton Township Hall.  Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township. Memorial contributions in memory of Helen are asked to be directed to the Roscommon County Commission on Aging. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
