Helen A. (Shuell) Swiger

Cadillac - Helen Ann Swiger, of Cadillac passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 84.

Helen was born on February 16, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan to William and Helen (Wesch) Shuell. She entered into marriage with Donald Swiger on October 17, 1980 in Reed City, MI.

Helen was a devoted mother caring for and raising seven children in the Evart and Cadillac area.  However her favorite title was that of grandma and she had a deep love for her grandkids.   Helen enjoyed every opportunity to baby sit or get that much needed quality time in with her grandchildren.  She could often be found reading and watching mystery's or listening to her favorite musician, Elvis.  Helen will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.

Helen is survived by her loving family, her six children, Jeffery (Victoria) Pontius of Cadillac, Ann (Al) VanEtten of Grand Rapids, Robert "Rob" (Megan) Pontius of California, Dennis (Stephanie) Pontius of California, Amanda (Billy) Paradis of Kansas, and Samantha (Rusty) Beames of Kansas; daughter-in-law, Tishia Pontius of  Evart; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother and sister, John Shuell and Elaine Schmidt; as well as many other loving family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Anthony "Tony" Pontius; her husband, Donald; and one brother and sister, Bill and Linda.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's  Association or Munson Hospice.
