Henry Nichols Sr, age 82 of Lake City passed away peacefully on June 8, 2021, at his home with his wife beside him.
Henry was born February 23, 1939 in Bath, Michigan to William and Lillian (Hancko) Nichols Sr.
When Henry was in the ninth grade at Shepherd High School, he enlisted and served his country in the US Navy where he received his GED. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodcrafts and traveling. He loved his cat, Missy.
He loved listening to country music and watching old western movies. He had been employed with the City of Lake City as a foreman on the maintenance crew for twenty years before retiring in 2009.
He is survived by his spouse, Sonja Nichols of Lake City and his children: Kowboy Henry Nichols of Cadillac, Sandra Cornell of Winter Haven, FL, Michael (Paula) Nichols of Mt. Pleasant, Steve Nichols of Oil City and Laurie (Pete) Stone also of Oil City, Tommy (Jen) Nichols of Lake City and Lisa Nichols of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by twenty eight grandchildren, fifty six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a brother, Steve (Jo) Hampton of Oil City.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Suzanne Nichols, a baby brother, Richard and a brother, William Nichols Jr.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Kelly Cemetery in Oil City, MI
