Inez R. Weston

CADILLAC- Inez Ruth Weston, longtime Cadillac resident, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital. She was 90.

Inez was born June 2, 1934, in Pinconning, MI to Merle and Pauline (Schrader) Wilson, one of ten children. Inez graduated from Midland High School in 1953 and went on to work at National Twist Drill and Tool Company in Rochester, MI until she met and married Jack D. Weston of Imlay City, MI. 

The family moved from Imlay City to Cadillac in 1966 when they purchased the South Shore Motel. The family owned and operated the motel until 1969. She then worked locally in the banking industry. In 1972 they built Lakeview Apartments which she owned and operated until 2021.

Inez is survived by her three children, Paula (Dan) Crandell of Galesburg, MI, Jeff Weston of Cadillac, MI and Jim (JoAnn) Weston of Cadillac, MI. Also, four grandchildren, Julie (Dave) Wilsey, Joe Weston, Chris (Ashley) Weston and Kyle (Connor) Weston, and four great-grandchildren, Lilah and Louis Wilsey and Everett and Sawyer Weston. Also a brother Earl (Jessie) Wilson and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any donations in her memory be made to Wexford County Council on Aging or Meals on Wheels of Wexford County.  The family would like to thank these two agencies for their support and care that they provided for Inez.
