Jack L. Sims

LeRoy - Jack Lynn Sims, of Ashton passed away at home with family by his side on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. He was 79.

Jack was born on February 17, 1946, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Lambert and Thelma (Lincoln) Sims. After moving north at a young age Jack became a graduate of LeRoy High School in 1963. Right out the gate he began a long hard working career in construction spanning well over 35 years.  Jack was a longtime and proud member of the Operator's Union Local 324. On May 4, 1968 he entered into marriage with the former Vikki Kerutis, a marriage resulting in two sons and 57 years of cherished memories. 

As Jack and Vikki settled into their family home they created a sanctuary on 80 acres, planting over 10,000 trees, and tying back into his roots of being raised on a dairy farm.  Jack enjoyed some of the best views in the county from their little oasis in the woods, as well as spending time tending to the property and hobby farming.  Jack created countless adventures and memories with his sons and family as they explored the woods and spent time hunting.  

Jack is survived by his wife, Vikki "Toots" Sims of LeRoy; his son, Chris (Rebbeca Yoder) Sims; one grandson, Christopher; his nieces, nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews; and other loving family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jamie Sims; and his five siblings, Jim, Steve, Wava, Phyllis, and Valerie.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday February 10, 2026 at the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home in Cadillac, with visitation one hour prior. Interment take place at the Ashton West Cemetery.
