Jackalene Musselman Obituary

Jackalene Ethlyn Musselman, age 83, passed unto the Lord on January 11, 2025 at Ashley Care Center.

She was born Oct 3, 1941 to John and Erma Maxwell in Lapeer, Michigan.  They had six girls and one boy which were born in different cities, because Dad worked on road construction. They settled in the Detroit area for several years and then the family of seven children were moved to Lake City, where her Mother raised them alone.

After graduation from High School, Jackie, married Charles (Buck) LaLone and had one daughter, Janet Marie.

Jackie was a factory worker, retail clerk, loved to read and enjoyed all farm animals. She was soft spoken, always kind and loved by many. There were many fun family gatherings.

When her husband, Buck passed away, she met and married Allen Musselman, Sr. and had many step children and grandchildren. She loved them all; as if they were her own.

After Allen passed, she was single for many years. She met James Peterson and he was her partner for ten years. He took care of her for about two years, after she became ill, until she was admitted to Ashley Care Center, where she passed in a short time.

Through the years she survived cancer five times. Her cancer doctor gave her six months the first time, but God had different plans. Her doctor said it was a miracle. Friends everywhere brought her angel figurines.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Janet Marie (Sam) Dunlap, three grandsons: Glen, Andrew, and Joseph Toppings and three great grandsons, all of the Owosso, Michigan area.

Jackie is also survived her partner, James Peterson, her oldest sister, Jean Tracey, and younger sister, Sandra (Phillip) Stark and her only brother, James (Sandi) Maxwell .

She was preceded in death by younger sisters, JoAnn Chafee, Barbara Summey and her youngest sister, Geraldine Ervans, and brother in law, Mel Summey,
