James Gibel, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. He was 64.
James was born on June 11, 1958 to John and Helen (Shirverly) Gibel in Toledo, Ohio. He entered into marriage on July 16, 1987 in Baker City, Oregon with the former Geneva L. Baisden. James spent his career as a jack of all trades, working as a carpenter, handyman and even lumberjack. In his spare time, he could often be found outdoors either hunting or fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed get-together's.
James is survived by his loving wife, Geneva L. Gibel of Merritt; children, Renee Gibel of Moorestown and James Gibel of Lake City; grandchildren, Brandon, Bianna, Taylor, K-lynn, Olivia and Mariah; brother, John (DeLynn) Gibel; sisters, Barbara Gibel of West Virginia and Dianna Kanzig of South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Gibel.
Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Gibel residence. The family requests casual attire be worn, to bring a drink of your choice and a chair, kids are welcome to join.
