Jeanette Bump Obituary

Jeanette Bump, born October 1, 1937, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kim Bump, who provided her with exceptional care.

Jeanette was a vibrant woman who loved gardening, crafting, finding great deals, and, most of all, her family. On March 2, 1957, in Lennon, Michigan, Jeanette married her beloved husband, John. They shared 61 wonderful years together until John's passing on March 31, 2018.

Her dedication to crafts led her to play a significant role at the Cadillac Senior Center, where she organized and participated in numerous projects, bringing joy to many. Her passion for plants and flowers showed in the hundreds of bulbs she planted each year, and she took great pride in her garden’s beauty.

Jeanette was known for her strong-willed nature and her determination to do things her way. Her patience, love, and independence made her a beloved figure to all who knew her. Those fortunate enough to have had her in their lives will always remember her for her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to others.

Jeanette is survived by her four children: John (Lori) Bump, Jim (Kim) Bump, Joe (Barb) Bump, and Jeff (Shelly) Bump; grandchildren: Josh Bump, Nate (Georgie) Bump, Tyler Bump, Nicholas (Genna) Bump, and Sam (Brandon Wright) Bump, October Bump, Melissa (Corbin) Williamson, Mercedes Harman, Austin Bump, Kaitlyn Bump; eleven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Tom (Evelyn) Bump; sister-in-law, Mary Rushin; and sister Dorothy Kirby.

Preceded in death by her parents, August and Hazel Ganssley; her husband, John Bump; her sister, Luella (Dewey) Haywood; her brothers-in-law, Charles Bump and William (Anna) Bump; and her brother-in-law, Jay Kirby.

In lieu of a funeral, the family requests that you plant a flower or tree in memory of Jeanette, celebrating her love for nature and the beauty she brought into the world.
