Jennie M. (Ross) Detmer

Jennie Mary Detmer, age 95, of Prudenville passed away on Wednesday May 21, 2025 at Crawford Continuing Care Center with her loving family by her side.

Jennie was born on December 4, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to Clarence and Neva (Bellinger) Ross. She was married on July 8, 1946 in West Branch to Buddy L. Detmer. Jennie worked for Houghton Lake Community Schools and later went to work for Montgomery Wards and then for Kronner's Department Store where she retired after 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Sweet Adelines, Brownie Leader, on various golf leagues at White Deer Country Club. She also enjoyed bowling and was an avid crafter. Jennie was a wonderful, kind hearted wife, mother and grandmother.

Jennie is survived by her children; Christine Cady, Michael (Janice) Detmer, Lou Ann Detmer and Wyatt Detmer, grandchildren; Joshua (Sarah) Cady, Cassidy Detmer, Lyndsey Detmer and Cody Detmer, great grandchildren; Kayden and Lyndsey Majors, Aurora and Maxwell Cady, Lena Detmer, Trinity and Michael Detmer, great-great grandchildren; Justin and Jonah Detmer and Zayden Zarzyski. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Bud, sister; Beverly McAllister, brother; James Ross and grandson; Justin Detmer.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of the Lake catholic Church on Thursday June 5, 2025 at 11 am. Interment will be in Denton Township Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church on Tuesday June 5 from 10 am until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions in memory of Jennie are asked to be directed to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
