Jerry Albert Barrett Sr.

Jerry Albert Barrett Sr., age 78 of Lake City, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Munson Healthcare, Cadillac Hospital.

Jerry was born August 9, 1944 in Romulus, Michigan to Earl and Eleanor (Barden) Barrett.

He was united in marriage to Bernice Ann Fedder in 1964 and she preceded him in death in 1994.  Jerry married Nancy Scheff in 1997 in Moorestown.

Jerry served in the US Army and was an Assistant Scout Master of the Boy Scouts of America. He loved trains and camping and over the years had enjoyed snowmobiles, motorcycles and dune buggies.

Jerry retired after 30 years from the Ford Motor Co and became involved in transportation for the Probate Court for several area counties. He was a member of the Lake City American Legion Post 300 and the Missaukee Conservation Club and found time for hunting and fishing.

He dearly loved his children and grandchildren and helped every one of them. Jerry was an active  member of the Moorestown Stittsville United Methodist Church.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Nancy, and children; Jerry (Deborah) Barrett Jr, Perry (Heather) Barrett, Kandy Barrett, John (Nickoale) Meinhardt, Brenda (Jeremy) Fertig, Kenneth (Shannon) Meinhardt, Scott Scheff, Jennifer Scheff and Kelly (Jeremy) Neeser, Twenty six grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and numerous special friends.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the Moorestown Stittsville United Methodist Church from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m.

A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Don Fluture officiating and military honors will be presented by the Lake City American Legion Post 300.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Mount Hope Memorial Gardens, 17840 Middlebelt Road, Livonia, MI, 48152
