Jerry William McEvers

Jerry William McEvers, 65 Years, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.

Jerry was born on August 30, 1953 in South Bend, Indiana to Ivan and Mary (Moore) McEvers. He moved to the Houghton Lake area as a youth and spent most of his life here. Jerry worked as a mechanic, and later in residential and commercial painting. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, going on road trips, and spending time with his friends and family.

Surviving Mr. McEvers are his daughter, Jerri (Duel) Morris of Caro; son, Henry (Lisa) McEvers of DeLeon Springs, FL; step daughter, Terra (Nick) Cua of FL; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Joanne (Kelly) Van-Y of Roscommon, Judy Hurley of Caro and Joy (Mark) Kolka of Prudenville; two brothers, John (Lisa) McEvers of Williamsburg and Joe McEvers of Houston, MN; several nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeanette Green, two brothers, Jim and Jeff and brother-in-law, Randy Hurley. 

Celebration of Life Gathering for Jerry William McEvers will be held at the Markey Township Hall from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday November 3, 2018. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
