Joanne Nevills Obituary

Joanne Nevills, 81, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Joanne was born on January 14, 1943 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan to John and Mary (Kirk) Crispin.  She grew up in the Mount Pleasant and Blanchard area where she graduated from Blanchard High School.  Joanne moved to the Houghton Lake area in 1979.  She worked as a Nursing Assistant for King Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for many years.  She later did custodial work at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mount Pleasant. Joanne enjoyed square dancing in her younger years in Mount Pleasant.  She loved her animals and did quilt work along with sewing.  She had made most of the boys clothes as they were growing up.  Joanne was known to have a great sense of humor.  

Surviving Mrs. Nevills are her three sons, Jack (Emily Cameron) Nevills of Houghton Lake, Terry (Robin) Nevills of Fife Lake, and Gary Lee Nevills of Houghton Lake; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.  Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Gary Lee Crispin. 

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Joanne Nevills will be conducted at a later date.  Memorial contributions in memory of Joanne are asked to be directed to he Roscommon County Animal Shelter.
