John Lamphere Obituary

John William Lamphere, of Cadillac, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at his home with family by his side. He was 84.

John was born on March 29, 1939 in Cadillac, Michigan to Ernest and Mary (Grames) Lamphere. He was one of ten children growing up. John spent his career working for Arvco Container for over 18 years, until his time of retirement in 2001. John enjoyed spending time outdoors going hunting and fishing. In his spare time, he liked to make trips to the park to listen to old time country music. John cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

John  is survived by his loving children, Brenda (Harding) Angel of Cadillac, Tim (Marsha) Lamphere of Cadillac, Kelly (Randy Potocki) Lamphere of Cadillac, and Dan (Sherrie) Lamphere of Tustin; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Rita Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Lamphere; 7 sisters; 2 brothers; a grandson, Tyler VanWieren; and a great-grandson, Richard Jennings.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11 a.m.until 1 p.m. at New Beginnings Church, 6887 N. US-131, Manton, MI 49663.
