John Ray Peterson

John Ray Peterson, age 67 of Lake City, passed away at home on August 11, 2025.

John was born March 17, 1958 in Clare, Michigan to Christen and Delphine (Fifield) Peterson.

He was raised in Moorestown and would often be seen driving his motorcycle with his hair flying. He was quite taken by his Harley. John loved his family and had an abundance of friends.

He was employed as a millwright for 27 years on the North Slope of Alaska. John loved his dachshunds and was adventurous and involved in extensive traveling and was quite the entertainer; playing his quitar.

John is survived by his son, John Peterson of Lake City, two sisters, Dawn Peterson of Cadillac and Christi Bergey of Lake City and three grandsons; Noah, Skyler and Jade Peterson. He is also survived by his nephew, Chantz Walsh and niece, Haileigh Glezman and great nephew, Alaric and great niece, Zariah, his friend, Diana Lansford and his dog, Grendel.

John was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother in law, John Bergey and Cletus.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2025 at the West Branch Township Cemetery (Sunnyside) (Cutcheon and Seven Mile Rd). A luncheon will immediately follow at the Norwich Township Hall.
