Johnnie J. Uber Sr.

Marion - Johnnie Joseph Uber Sr., lifelong resident of the area passed away, with family by his side, at home on Sunday, December 4, 2022. He was 64.

Johnnie was born on May 17, 1958, in Redding Township, Michigan to Edward and Emma (Krchmar) Uber.   He grew up in the Marion area and attended Marion High School before taking classes at Mid-Michigan  Community College.  On February 4, 1977, John entered into marriage with the former Cynthia Gardner at the Church of the Nazarene in Temple. 

Following many years in the service industry John finally bought into the business and proudly served the Marion area as the owner and operator of John's All Vehicle Service. Johnnie cherished the opportunities he had to spend with his beloved wife, Cindy, as well as the time he had to tease and torment his grandchildren.  In early years, he showcased his construction knowledge and talents in completing the construction of two homes.  He also could be found out hunting for his next deer or taking in some pool from the area pool leagues.  John will be remembered for his hard work, loyalty to his family and the community, and will be deeply missed by many.

Johnnie is survived by his wife, of nearly 45 years, Cindy Uber of Harrison; his two sons, John (Chris) Uber, Jr. and Robert (Cara) Uber all of Harrison; five grandchildren, Calvin, Johnnie III, Sabrina, Aubri, Maggie; one great-grandchildren, Matthew; his siblings, Marie and Eddie Uber.   He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Henry Uber.

Funeral services will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior.  Interment will follow at the Fernwood Cemetery in Temple.   Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of John Uber Jr.
