Joyce Dawn Blackmore, lifelong resident of Manton, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the Wexford Senior Care Center in Cadillac. She was 92.
Joyce was born on April 7, 1932 to Waldo and Beulah (Lamphere) Bostick in Manton, Michigan. She was a graduate of Manton High School. On June 25, 1955, she entered into marriage with Elden Blackmore. The couple spent over 56 years together, until his time of passing in 2011. In her spare time, she could often be found going for car rides around with her son. She enjoyed collecting stuffed bears over the years. Joyce looked forward to making the holidays special and celebrating them with her family. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her beautiful smile.
Joyce is survived by her loving family: daughter, Charlene (Larry) Cochrane of Manton; son, Richard "Rick" Blackmore of Manton; grandchildren, Matthew (Steven Valdez) Cochrane, Amanda (Larry) McMann, Haley Blackmore, Noyes Blackmore, and Savannah Blackmore; two great-grandchildren, Maeve and Clare McMann; one niece; four nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden; son, Stephen; her parents, Waldo and Beulah; brother, Wilfrid Bostick; and two sisters-in-law, Delores Bostick and Joyce Betts.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 12 noon with visitation held one hour prior at Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow services at Rollins Church.
