Judith Ann Gibson passed away, Friday, March 14, 2025 at home with family by her side. She was 85.
Judith was born on October 14, 1939 in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Arthur and Mildred Nakkula. Judy was a Christian and loved her church family. She loved caring for her young family, planning meals and activities for five children. She loved to cook and canning the jams that we all loved. She was proud of all her grandchildren and always had a story, or many, to tell about them. She worked at Cracker Barrel for almost 20 years, earning her four stars. On December 6, 1969 she entered into marriage with Dewey Andrew Gibson in Redford Township Michigan. Judy loved to travel with her husband, Dewey. They visited family, attended activities at the timeshares and went to shows, to name a few.
Judith is survived by her loving family, sister, Sandra Terry; children, Steven Gibson (Teresa), Debra Thompson (Will), Michael Gibson, Brenda Hudson (Scott), Sherry Mahlstedt (Richaed Goike); grandchildren, Timothy Adams, Robert Naughton, Amber Gibson (Brett), Jon Adams, Angela Cupp (Mike), Justin Gibson (Danielle), Monica Belyk (Chris), Glen Wiggins, Stevie Gibson, and Brandon Gibson; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dewey Gibson; brother-in-law, Malen Terry; brother-in-law, Robert Gibson; sister-in-law, Dorthy Gibson; and daughter-in-law, Karolyn Gibson.
Memorial services will be held at LeRoy Covenant Church, 201 Cherry Street, LeRoy, Michigan 49655. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon on Saturday, April 5, 2025, with a luncheon at the church to follow.
