Judith Fall Iverson, age 90, of Lake City, passed away May 18, 2025 at home, surrounded by her family.
Judy was born February 17, 1935 to DeWitt and Emily Virginia (Enders) Fall and raised in Jackson, Michigan.
She met her husband of 50 years, George Richard “Dick” Iverson, while he was in high school in Lake City. They were married on March 27, 1954.
She attended Albion College, then transferred to Central Michigan University with Dick.
Judy is survived by her three children, George Christopher, Julie Susan and Virginia Jean, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Judy dearly loved Lake City. She knew she wanted to live there when she met Dick in 1954. After traveling around the world with Dick and family for his 30 year Army career they retired to her dream in Lake City in 1987. During Dick's Army career she relocated an amazing 22 times.
When they settled in Lake City, Judy was deeply involved in civic activities that included the early days of the Missaukee Humane Society, Missaukee County recycling, coordinating Good Morning Lake City and Music in the Park. She served many, many terms on the City Council.
Judy became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in 1987 and served as a Ruling Elder. She was president of the Women’s Club for many years.
In her spare time she was an avid wool spinner and basket weaver; a skill she taught here in Lake City. During their retirement in Lake City, Judy and Dick built by hand their beloved “cabin in the woods”.
Judy’s kind heart and generosity touched all those that knew her. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick in 2004, and second husband, Robert Luter in 2010.
There will be a graveside service on May 27, 2025 at the Lake City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed, in memory of Judy, to the Missaukee Humane Society or the Lake City First Presbyterian Church.
