Justin "Bud" Hawkins Obituary

Justin "Bud" Joseph Hawkins, of Mesick, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at his home in Mesick. He was 42.

Justin was born on March 31, 1983 in Traverse City, Michigan to Jon and Debra (Bradford) Hawkins. Justin was a volunteer firefighter for many years, until his retirement. He also owned his own DJ entertainment business, where he shared his love of music at numerous events. Justin loved the color orange. He was an avid fan of wrestling and his favorite wrestlers were Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso "Yeet". Justin loved spending time with his family, they always came first. Justin and his dad enjoyed going to the old engine show and air shows throughout the years. He loved cooking alongside his mom and making special meals for his family. He will be remembered for his special saying "It's what I do!".
  
Justin is survived by his loving parents, Jon and Debra Hawkins; sister, Megan (Roger) Geraci; brother, Nick (April) Hawkins; niece, Arya Hawkins; uncle, Tim Bradford; grandmother, Dorthy Hawkins; very best friend, Charlie Strong and Jessica; special friends, Sara and Jeremy Truog and family, and Holly Keway; his beloved pets, Hawkeye, Patches, Piper, Louie, Willow, Phoenix, Miracle and Lucky.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Carol Bradford; grandfather, Jerry Hawkins; and a niece, Kaydence Ann Geraci.
  
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be directed to your local animal shelter, as justin- if he could, he would rescue any and all animals.

Justin, who loved helping anyone, has given the gift of love of helping others through the Gift of Life program.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer and will be announced at a later time.
