McBain - Keith Eugene Nedry, of McBain passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Munson Healthcare's Cadillac Hospital. He was 85.
Keith was born on September 2, 1940, in Falmouth, Michigan to Fred and Sidney (Jones) Nedry. In his younger years, Keith worked at a tool and die shop in Grand Rapids and also helped in building the Ludington Pumped Storage Plant. In 2003 Keith began working as a tool and die maker with Kysor in Cadillac and eventually became a senior manufacturing engineer. Following several years of courting beginning back in 1991 Keith entered into holy matrimony with the former June Marie Duncan Helsel in January of 2024.
Keith enjoyed traveling and was fortunate enough to visit several countries in addition to spending winters in Arizona. He had a special place in his heart for the hunting cabin, where he created many memories with his friends, playing cards, eating and telling stories. Keith appreciated and loved life's simple pleasures, from being with friends, playing golf and coaching baseball, too working on his pond and feeding his fish.
Keith was a handy guy and craftsman who could often be found woodworking, helping others to build homes or even remodeling his own. He will be deeply missed by many throughout the Lake City area and within his Mesa community.
Keith is survived by his wife, June Helsel Nedry of McBain; stepchildren, Bruce (Michelle) Helsel, Bryon (Jan) Helsel, and Brenda (Ed) Dracht; his sister, Irene Logan; numerous nieces and nephews, including Jerry (Cheryl) VanHaitsma and Jeff (Ann) VanHaitsma, whom Keith was very close with; in addition to many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marge VanHaitsma; and his brothers, Boyd Nedry and Stan Nedry.
