Larry Christiansen Obituary

Larry Richard Christiansen, 82, of  Prudenville passed away on Thursday October 16, 2025 at Horizon Senior Living in West Branch.

Larry was born on November 29, 1942 in Independence, Iowa to Richard and Helen (Wagner) Christiansen. Larry moved to Clarkston at a young age and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1961.  He went on to receive his Engineering Degree from Michigan State University.  On November 5, 1977 in Clarkston,  Larry was married  to Norma  Jean Kiefer.  Larry was an Engineer for Ford Motor Company for 35 years. The couple moved from Waterford to the Prudenville area in 2014. Larry was a member of the Houghton Lake Sportsman's Club, Oakland County Sportsman's Club, and enjoyed shooting at the Sportsman's Club in Mesa, Arizona where the couple spent their winters. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garage and playing with his dogs, Charlie, Billy, and Sawyer. His special time was being with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Christiansen are his loving wife of 47 years, Norma  Christiansen of Prudenville; three daughters, Melissa (Aaron) Coulter of Waterford, Rebecca (Michael) Newbre of Marshall, and Sarah (Andrew) Stewart of Richfield, OH; son, Richard Christiansen of Waterford; ten grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; two sisters, Lynn (Keven) Anderson of Springhill, FL, and Cindy (Vern) Hawley of Prudenville; nieces and nephews.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents. 

Celebration of Life Services for Larry R. Christiansen will be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Larry are asked to be directed to the Oakland County Sportsman's Club or the Houghton Lake Sportsman's Club.
