Laurel Kibiloski Obituary

On Thursday, December 11, 2025, Laurel K. Kibiloski passed away in Lake City, Michigan, the beloved northern town she called home. There will be a memorial service held in the spring at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home in Milford, Michigan.

Laurel was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, on April 13, 1949 to R. Eldridge and Wanda (Luikens) Dryer. Laurel graduated in 1967 from Lakeview High School. She graduated from Central Michigan University in 1971 and later took graduate credits from that university.

She taught elementary classes, was a Head Teacher and a Reading Recovery Specialist for the Walled Lake Consolidated School District.

Laurel married Randy Kibiloski October 30, 1971 and together they raised twin daughters in Milford, Michigan. She retired from Walled Lake Consolidated Schools in 2005 and moved to Lake City, Michigan.

Laurel loved her family and enjoyed family dinners, and activities that included family, children, grandchildren and friends.

She liked mushroom hunting, working on projects with Randy and travel. Despite any hardships that entered her life, she was grounded in her Christian faith and believed Jesus was her Savior.

Laurel was preceded in death by her husband Randy, and survived by daughters, Jodi (Jason) Porter and Kate (Jason) Sims. Grandchildren : Ella Porter and Addison Porter, Charlotte Sims, and Isaac Sims. Sister in law, Gloria Dryer and brother, Shawn (Juanita) Dryer and was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Dryer.

She was especially fond of a quote by Steve Jobs, which guided her outlook on life. “Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life.
