Laurence Parsell Obituary

Laurence Harold Parsell, 77, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Friday June 26, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born on October 16, 1942 in Roscommon, Michigan.  He was the son of Harold and Freda (Shirey) Parsell.  Larry served in the Army. He worked as a Truck Driver for United Van Lines.  On April 10, 1962 in Hamburg, MI. Larry was married to Helen Joann Mandelka. Larry spent most of his life in the Houghton Lake area. He was a member of Houghton Lake VFW Post #4034, and the Prudenville American Legion Post.  An avid outdoorsman loving fishing and camping, and enjoyed watching wrestling on TV.

Surviving Mr. Parsell are his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Joann Parsell of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Linda (Garnet) Haynes of Carlton,and  Leona (Kenny) Straub of Milan; two sons, Thomas (Mary) Parsell of Houghton Lake, and Lawrence P. (Barbara) Parsell of Houghton Lake; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Herby, Karl, and Kenny. 

Celebration of Life Services for Laurence Harold Parsell will be conducted at a later date.  Memorial contributions in memory of Laurence are asked to be directed to the family.
