LeRoy Bair

LeRoy Bair, age 85, of Houghton Lake passed away on November 12, 2021 at Durand Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in Durand.

LeRoy was born on January 3, 1936 in Houghton Lake to Harry and Mable (Nestell) Bair. He grew up in Houghton Lake and attended the Houghton Lake Stone School.  LeRoy served as a PFC in the Army at the end of the Korean War, serving for over one year overseas.   On March 19, 1955 in Houghton Lake LeRoy was married to Roena Snyder.  The couple moved to the Mt. Morris area where they farmed and LeRoy worked as a Shipping Supervisor for General Motors. Upon his retirement the couple moved back to Houghton Lake.  LeRoy was a member of Houghton Lake Baptist Church and was an active Boy Scout Leader for many years. The family would like to thank Kings Nursing & Rehabilitation Community for the four years that they provided care for LeRoy. 

Surviving Mr.Bair are his daughter, Sherry Wilson of Flint; three sons, Bruce (Gail) Bair of Lennon, Alan (Kelly) Bair of TN, and Dale Bair of TN; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Bair of Houghton Lake, and Eleanor (Ed) Zarzyski of Houghton Lake; two brothers, Walter (Joyce) Bair of Houghton Lake, and Joseph Bair of Houghton Lake; numerous nieces and nephews and his buddy, Cody.  LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roena Bair; grandson, Danny Wilson; five brothers, Manley, Alfred, George, Melvin, and William; and two sisters, Evarley, and Josephine. 

Funeral Services for LeRoy  Bair will be conducted at Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel on Saturday November 20, 2021 at 2 pm with Pastor Stephen Milam officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Twp. Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Visitation will be held on Saturday November 20, 2021 at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service at 2 pm.  Memorial contributions in memory of LeRoy are asked to be directed to Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
