Leland D. "Chief" Grose, age 63 of Mount Morris, passed away April 12, 2021 at the McLaren Hospital in Flint, with daughters by his side.
He was born Dec. 12, 1957 in Bay City to Ernest W. and Margaret A. (Hall) Grose.
He married Susan Seabolt on May 22, 1982 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
Leland had worked on oil rigs and in tree service until he became unable to work. He was a proud member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa Chippewa Indians.
Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing penny slots at the casino, powwows and spending time with his kids and great grandkids.
Leland is survived by his wife Susan Grose, children: Crystal (Kevin) Witek, Matthew Grose, Jason (Jessica) Seabolt, Penny (Kevin) Nichols, Brandi Grose and step sister, Deb Clark. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Margaret (Hall) Grose, siblings: Douglas Grose, Susanne Grose, Debra Grose, Ernie Grose and Norma Woollard.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 from 3:30-6:30 pm at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, masks covering the mouth and nose will be required, social distancing will be observed, and the funeral home capacity is limited to 25 people at any given time.
