Lenore "Cookie" Carolyn (Smith) Barth

Lenore Carolyn "Cookie" Barth, 85, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Friday June 4, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side.

Lenore was born on October 28, 1935 in Flint, MI to Howard and Mildred (Tucker) Smith. She grew up in the Houghton Lake area graduating from Houghton Lake Community Schools. On October 25, 1952 in Houghton Lake Lenore was married to Norman Kenneth  Barth.  The couple owned and operated Barth's Cottages on Houghton Lake and Lenore worked as a baker.  She made cakes and different items for many local families and she also worked at Charlie Brown's Bakery in Houghton Lake.  She enjoyed going to the senior center the last several years. Her special love was spending time with family and especially running her "Grandma Daycare" where all the grandchildren would come when family was at work or away.

Surviving Mrs. Barth are her three sons, Norman (Deanna) Barth of Houghton Lake, Tim Barth of Houghton Lake, and Dave (Jenny Quirk) of Houghton Lake; eight grandchildren, Eric(Tracie) Myers , Kenneth(Heather Bailey) Barth, Jessica(Ray) Brady, Allison Barth, Jake Barth, Norman(Sarah) Barth, Tyler Barth, and Logan Barth; three great grandchildren, Anthony, Kerry, and Kody; brother, Dale Smith of Houghton Lake; several nieces and nephews.  Lenore was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Kenneth Barth; daughter, Linda Barth, and two sisters, Pat Randall, and Sharon Weir. 

At the request of Mrs. Barth no services will be held.  Memorial contributions in memory of Lenore are asked to be directed to Munson Hospice.   Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
