Leonard Solecki Sr. Obituary

In Loving Memory of Leonard Frank Solecki, Sr., 85

Leonard Frank Solecki, Sr., age 85, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, and into heaven’s eternal happy hunting grounds on opening day, November 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born to Leonard Louis and Cecelia D. Solecki on June 27, 1940, Leonard was the eldest of six children (Diane, Elaine, Gale, Patricia, and Gary) and a lifelong outdoorsman who spent 60 cherished years at the Four Buds cabin, where the woods felt like home. His love for hunting was outmatched only by his devotion to his family, the joy of shared laughter, and his steadfast Catholic faith. He dedicated his career to public service as Superintendent of the City of Warren Water Department, where he served with pride for over 40 years.

In 1960, he married his first love, Elizabeth Ann Mac, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage until her passing in 2014. Together they built a life rich in love, laughter, and legacy. In later years, he was blessed to find true love again with Nancy (Odorico), his wonderful, devoted wife of the past 10 years, who survives him.

He is lovingly remembered by his four children: Charlene Marie (Keith) VanDeKerkhove, Annamarie (Kacee) Campbell, Leonard Frank (Caron) Solecki, Jr., and Larry John Solecki, stepsons: Rick Odorico and Jeff Odorico, brothers: Gale (Irene) and Gary. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. He was a proud grandad to nine grandchildren and a great-grandad to seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

A man of quiet strength, deep faith, and enduring love, Leonard leaves behind a legacy of integrity, resilience, and reverence for God’s creation. His family finds comfort knowing he now walks the woodlands of heaven, reunited with loved ones who have gone before. Leonard’s spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and in the stories that will be shared for generations to come.

A celebration of his life will be held on December 13th at Christ Lutheran Church, 32300 Schoenherr Rd., Warren, MI 48088, with Pastor Hunde presiding and service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Family, friends, and all who were touched by his charisma and wisdom are welcome to attend and share in honoring his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local food bank pantry in Leonard's memory.
