Cadillac - Lewis James Robinson, of Harrison passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Munson Healthcare's Cadillac Hospital. He was 88.
Lewis was born October 22, 1929, in Sylvan Township to Eugene and Louise (Beck) Robinson. On December 30, 1976, Lewis entered into marriage with the former Betty Lou Wonsey, who preceded him in death on June 27, 2016.
Lewis made his living while working at Fisher Body plant, in addition he helped many others with his skills as a carpenter. Lewis was an avid outdoorsman, he could often be found out hunting small game, rabbits, birds and of course deer. He would take any opportunity to go fishing with family and friends. In younger years he participated in playing softball and was a valued part of the many teams and leagues he took part in. Lewis loved children and found joy in acting as Santa during the holiday season for many years. Lewis proudly served with the United States Army during WWII, and was a member of the Eagles. He will be deeply missed.
Lewis is survived by his loving family, his children; Lewis James (Edie) Robinson, Jr., Ed E. Robinson, Robert L. (Deb) Robinson, Leon R. (Pam) Robinson, Douglas E. Robinson, and Darlin Robinson; stepchildren, Dawn M. (Nelson) Vanleeuwen, Lloyd R Ayers, Susan K. (Bob) Ehrhart, Cindy Lou (John) Emerick, Cathy E. (Dave) Webster, and Lori A. Ayers; two sisters, Ida Papp and Crystal Sickels; many grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; as well as many other loving in-law's, family members and friends.
Lewis was preceded in death by two step-sons, Dale R. Ayers and Ricky A. Ayers; grandsons, Mark and Cody Taylor; and a brother, Bobby Robinson
Graveside committal services will be at the Sylvan Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 6, 2018. Memorial contributions may be made to any VFW.
The family is being served by the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home.
