Linda Lou (McDonald) Brown

Linda Lou Brown, 74, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Monday July 19, 2021 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.

Linda was born on October 18, 1946 in Flint, Michigan to Kenneth and Edna (Dominy) McDonald.She grew up in the Burton area where she graduated from Bentley High School. Linda worked several years in the cafeteria at Atherton Middle School in Burton and later as a cashier at the Houghton Lake K-Mart Store. She moved from Burton to Houghton Lake 22 years ago. Linda attended Houghton Lake Church of God. She enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggert , and soap operas on TV, and loved listening to Elvis Presley music. Her special passion was spending time with the great grandbabies.

Surviving Mrs. Brown are her two daughters, Lisa Hickey of Houghton Lake, and Kimberly (Barry Buffey) Truex of Flint; three grandchildren, Christopher Hickey, Nathan Baker, and Jennifer Baker; three great grandchildren, Noah Baker, Makayla Baker, and Connor Reynolds; two brothers, Kenneth McDonald of Burton, and Dennis McDonald of Burton; brother-in-law, Dennis Harris of Houghton Lake; several nieces and nephews.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammy Hickey; and sister, Janet Harris. 

Funeral Services for Linda Lou Brown will be conducted at 4:00pm Thursday July22, 2021 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Pastor Carl Neuenfeldt officiating. Interment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 22, 2021 from 3:00pm until the time of the service at 4:00pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel.  Memorial contributions in memory of Linda are asked to be directed to the National Leukemia Foundation.
