Linda Sue “Susie” Edenfield, age 84, of Houghton Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center-West Branch, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born on June 14, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to Emil and Rose (Racz) Smigulec. She graduated from Providence School of Nursing and worked as an RN for Providence Hospital. Linda was married on October 5, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan, to David Edenfield. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and enjoyed going to church, gardening, crocheting, and reading.
Linda is survived by her son, David Edenfield of St. Clair Shores; daughter, Barbara (Jon) Bolsby of Prudenville; grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan (Kayla), Brandon, and Amanda (Carl); great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Ryelee, Ayden, Eponine, and Isla; as well as many loving and caring friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David Edenfield, and her sister, Kathleen Mercier.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Linda S. Edenfield will be conducted at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Friday, February 6th, 2026, at 11:30 AM with Father Matthew Cowen officiating. Interment will be in Denton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6th, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Memorial contributions in memory of Linda are asked to be directed to the CCW at Our Lady of the Lake. Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel, is serving the family.
