Lola M. (Mainprize) Bowman

Lola M. Bowman, age 95, of Houghton Lake passed away on Friday April 16, 2021 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community with her loving family by her side.

Lola was born on August 25, 1925 in Coleman, Michigan to James and Ople (Calkins) Mainprize. She was married on July 15, 1945 in Wilmington, NC to George "Bob" Bowman. Lola retired from Houghton Lake Community Schools where she was a bookkeeper for over 30 years. After retirement her and Bob enjoyed traveling to Gulf Shores for the winter months. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Houghton Lake Eagles and Sweet Adelines.

Lola is survived by her children; Cindy (Bob) Bedell of Houghton Lake, Kay (Doug) Toms of Prudenville and Bob (Sharon) Bowman of Zeeland, grandchildren; John, Brian, Joshua, Jason, Stacey and Sam, great grandchildren; Taryn, Carter, Caleb, Shawn, Bryce, Ness, Brandon and Alex and four great-great grandchild; Leda, Freya, Brodie Rose and Otto. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; George "Bob" Bowman, grandson; Greg Ferguson, sister; Laura Anderson, brothers; James Mainprize and Donald Mainprize.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Lola are asked to be directed to St. John Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community for the care they showed her.
