Lorraine May Richardson, age 80, passed away with family by her side on January 9, 2026.
She was born May 1, 1945, to Beatrice and Ted Gryglewski. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Daniel Gryglewski.
Lorraine was drawn to Northern Michigan in 1978, where she started a hobby farm. She loved animals, gardening, and living off the land. She was a true homesteader way before it became popular. She respected the earth and nature; and lived a simple and holistic life. She was also proud of her Polish heritage and devoted a lot of time to researching her ancestry.
During their marriage, Charles Richardson and Lorraine had five sons, whom she was devoted to.
Lorraine is survived by her sons, Chris (Lisa) Richardson, Larry (Lisa) Richardson, Keith (Nicole) Richardson, Sean (Natalie) Richardson, and James (Nicole) Richardson. She had several grandchildren, Cody (Kassie) Richardson, Ciara Richardson, Brandon Richardson, Tyler Richardson, Shayanne (Josh) VanHouten, Ally Richardson, Zach Richardson, and Tiffany Richardson, 6 great grandchildren and a niece and nephew.
Lorraine will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life to honor Lorraine will be held in May to lay her to rest beside her parents and brother in the Old Jennings Cemetery.
