Louis "Louie" Guy Champeau, age 69, of Houghton Lake passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Louie was born on August 24, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee to Edward and Ida (Sawtell) Champeau. He retired from the US Navy after serving for 21 years. After retirement he moved to Houghton Lake in 1987 where he began working for Grayling Hospital in the maintenance department. Louie was married on May 20, 2006 in Houghton Lake to Pamela A. (McDonald) Nagy. He was a member of the EAA Chapter 1259, he served as the Markey Township Supervisor and enjoyed flying his airplane.
Louie is survived by his loving wife; Pamela A Champeau of Houghton Lake, sons; Barry (Melissa) Champeau of Linden, VA. and Daniel (Stacie) Champeau of Clarkston, step-children; Alisha (Derek) Pastell of Roscommon and Sean (Denise) Nagy of Houghton Lake, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, sisters; Eleanor (Thom Rozycki) Champeau of Waterford, Linda Kay (Pat) Green of Clarkston, and brother; Lee (Becky) Champeau of Clarkston. He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Nicole Marie Pastell.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township.
