Margaret Louise (Hoffman) Graham

Margaret Louise Graham, 99, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Monday January 20, 2020 at home with her loving family by her side.

Margaret was born on November 24, 1920 in Hemlock, Michigan to George and Lena (Feuerhelm) Hoffman. She grew up in the Hemlock area and graduated from Hemlock High School.  On November 22, 1940 in Covington, Kentucky, Margaret was married to Robert T.  Graham.  The couple moved from Hemlock to Houghton Lake in 1976.  Margaret was a homemaker and loving mother of three children. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.  Margaret enjoyed spending her time with family and especially her grandchildren.

Surviving Mrs.Graham are her daughter, Karen (Chet) Thomas-Powaga of Holt; son, Monte(Carol) Graham of Sanford; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, special friends, Pat and Catherine Seagraves of Houghton Lake.  Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert T. Graham; son, William Graham; sister, Irene Sobieski; and brother Walter Hoffman. 

Funeral Services for Margaret L. Graham will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday January 25, 2020 from St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Kruse officiating. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake, in the spring. Visitation will be held on Friday January 24, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel.  Memorial contributions in memory of Margaret are asked to be directed to the American Cancer Society.
