Marvin “Butch” Wagner, age 74 of Lake City, passed away June 13, 2022 at home.
Butch was born January 10, 1948 at home in West Branch Township to Leonard “Penny” and Nora (Knapp) Wagner.
He married the former Judy L. Crane on March 20, 1970 and she preceded him in death September 17, 1991.
Butch graduated from Lake City High School and served in the US Army. He received injuries during combat and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from Shell Oil and Gas and enjoyed numerous outdoor activities; fishing, camping, ATV and hunting. He could often be found hanging out with his buddies and many get togethers with friends and family.
Butch is survived by his daughters, Tresa (Kurt) Boals of Prudenville and Tonya Wagner of South Boardman and grandsons, Paul Birgy, Conner Hall, Brock Casselman and granddaughter, Briley Kurth. Also sisters, Evelyn Wade and Margie (Jerry) Phillips and his mother in law Betty Crane, all of Lake City and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is also survived by his former wife, Brenda Wagner and step children: Nikki Hill, Misty Pulver, Mindy Dunlop and numerous step grandchildren.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill, Bob, Jay, Claude and Burdette.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
A funeral service will be on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev James Siler officiating and military honors conducted by the Lake City American Legion Post 300.
Burial will take place at the West Branch Township Cemetery in Missaukee County.
