Mary Borton Obituary

Manton - Mary Ann Borton, longtime resident of the Manton and Selma Township areas passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Wright's Adult Foster Care. She was 80.

Mary Ann was born on July 18, 1943, in Onekama, Michigan to Theodore and Mary (Danks) Borton. She lived with her folks, and two sisters, growing up in Bear Lake, Glen Arbor and eventually Selma Township.  Mary spent time working at Hope Network in Cadillac as part of their mission to help those with barriers to employment. She will be remembered for her love of shopping, and enjoying her three favorite dishes, BBQ Chicky, Pizza, and ice cream. She will be deeply missed.

Mary Ann is survived by a special niece, Holly (Mark) Wenzel of Manton; great-nieces, Makayla (Nate) Robertson of Tennessee and Mackenzie Wenzel of Mesick; great-great-niece, Kingsley Robertson of Tennessee; nephew, Harold Ashley of Louisiana; niece, Kandy Ashley also of Louisiana; several other nieces, nephews; and many other loving friends and housemates at Wrights TLK in Manton where she made her home over the last seven years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister in infancy; and two sisters, Wanda Letts and Vivian Ashley

Cremation has taken place and her urn will be laid to rest alongside her family at Selma Township Cemetery. The family would like to thank, and extend a tremendous amount of gratitude, to all of the wonderful staff at Wrights that showed great care and love for Mary Ann. Thank you for making her part of their family for so many years! Memorial contributions may be directed to Wrights AFC Home in Manton.
