Mary Ates Perry, age 91 of Lake City passed away at Autumnwood of McBain, on April 28, 2025.
Mary was born August 20, 1933 in San Bernardino, California to Pastor and Mary (Lechuga) Ates.
She was united in marriage to George Saylon Sr in Wilmington, California. They divorced after thirteen years of marriage.
Mary was very active in church, a strong woman of faith, and could always be found reading her Bible. She was a prayer warrior and dedicated to her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary enjoyed to crochet and sew and loved to cook.
She is survived by her children, George Jr. (Anna) Saylon, Geri (Mark) Ohashi, Mitchell Saylon, Mario Saylon, Rebecca Saylon and Ruvell Saylon, thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and also a sister, Clara Duncan.
Mary was preceded in death by brothers, Pastor Jr. and Demetrio (Danny), sisters, Patricia (Patsy) and Shirley and a great granddaughter, “Ella”.
A Celebration of Life will be held in California on Mary's birthday, August 20, 2025.
Memorial tributes may be directed to the Missaukee County Commission on Aging.
