Matthew Carratura Obituary

Cadillac - Matthew Joseph Carratura, beloved son, brother, friend, and advocate, passed away peacefully on September 22nd, 2025, at the age of 56. He brought joy, laughter, and inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Matt was a longtime fan of professional wrestling, especially the WWF, and loved watching matches and following his favorite wrestlers.  His love for sports extended beyond the screen. He proudly participated in Special Olympics basketball and swimming, at both regional and state tournaments.

Matt was a member of the Beautiful Signers in Prescott, AZ, a group that celebrates the beauty of sign language and inclusion. His voice reached far beyond his community. He served on the national board of the Down Syndrome organization and spoke at their national convention.

Family was everything to Matt. He was a devoted brother who never missed a chance to cheer on his sisters at their childhood soccer games, and he treasured every moment spent with family and friends. His love for music was infectious, especially when it came to the Beach Boys. He could often be found singing along to their tunes with a smile that lit up the room.

Matt lived a life full of heart, purpose, and joy. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him, reminding us to embrace life with passion, kindness, and love.

Matt is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Carratura. He is survived by his loving mother, Bernadette; his devoted sisters, Maria Billsby and her husband Scott, Michelle Ward and her husband Gregg, and Rona Aguilar and her husband Rick. He was a proud uncle to nieces Emily, Cecilia, Poppy, Eloise, and nephew Finnegan and countless friends and admirers who will miss him dearly.
