Michael Brent Jacobs

Beloved father, brother and friend Michael Brent Jacobs went to join his family and the Lord on March 24, 2021.

Born on February 3, 1964 to Douglas and Cassandra (Kimling) Jacobs in Portsmouth Virginia.  Mike grew up in Ovid and St. Johns Michigan, graduating from St. Johns, class of 1982.  He later settled in Prudenville where he had spent much of his life at his grandparents cottage and had fallen in love with the lake life.

He is survived by his brothers Eric Jacobs of St. Johns Michigan and Christopher Jacobs of Chandler Arizona, sisters Leigh Ann Wade of Baytown Texas and Misty Simmer of Lansing Michigan.  Daughter, Brianna Jacobs (Brandon Bennett), grandchildren Bryden & Sutherlyn) of Laingsburg Michigan and daughter, Mikayla Jacobs (Thomas Cochran) of Prudenville Michigan, many Aunts & Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Mike also leaves behind three kitties whom he loved very much.

After graduation, Mike went to work for GM in Flint where he made many lifelong friends.  He retired from GM and spent his spare time volunteering at the Houghton Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Houghton Lake Snow Groomers when his health permitted.  Mike was passionate about the trail system and worked closely with the DNR and Snow Groomers group to continually improve the trail system surrounding Houghton Lake.  Mike’s other love was being a DJ.  He loved karaoke, singing, playing at parties, bars and right at home.  He worked on and off for many years at the Limberlost Bar, played many Bud Bash and Tip-Up-Town events and an Annual Halloween Party downstate that he loved.  Mike was very handy and could fix most anything electrical, motorized or computer related.  Mike loved the lake and spent many hours on the south sandbar making new friends.  If you saw the volleyball net in the water, you knew he was there to start a party.  He would do anything to help anyone.  The most important thing in Mike’s life were his daughters Brianna and Mikayla.  He was so proud of their accomplishments and loved them beyond words.
