Myrtle Nola Williams, 89, of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday May 7, 2018 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
Myrtle was born on October 10, 1928 in Houghton Lake, Michigan to Hazen and Ella (Alexander) Randall. She grew up in Houghton Lake and graduated from Houghton Lake High School in 1948. Myrtle worked as a waitress for several area restaurants including Dutch Pantry, Pick Wick, and Whiteheads. She spent all of her life in the Houghton Lake area and enjoyed spending time at home and tending to her flower gardens.
Surviving Mrs. Williams are her loving daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Hallett of Prudenville, and, Susan (Richard) Damon of Howell; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four brothers, Murl "Pinky" (Joyce) Randall of Houghton Lake, Herbert (Joan) Randall of Houghton Lake, Arthur (Kay) Randall of Houghton Lake; and Carl Randall of Houghton Lake; two sisters, Julia"Joanne" (Ron) Couch of Roscommon, and Vera (Ron) Randall-Parsons of Houghton Lake; several nieces and nephews. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Beverly Williams-Tyrell; sister, Verna Witt; five brothers, Gordon, Donald, Louis, Homer, and Willie.
Memorial services for Myrtle Nola Williams will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday May 12, 2018 from Houghton Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor George Spencer officiating. Visitation time will be held at the church from 12:00pm until the time of the service at 1:00pm on Saturday May 12, 2018. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Myrtle are asked to be directed to the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
