Nadine Kaye Norby, 95, Prudenville, died December 26, 2024 at her home.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Merritt-Butterfield Community Church, with Pastor Hyun-Jun Cho officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
Nadine was born in Detroit on December 24, 1929, to Walter and Audrey Hunt. She graduated from Lake City Rural Agricultural School in 1947 and graduated from Ferris State College in 1951 with a degree in Pharmacy. She was a pharmacist at Hunt’s Drug Store in Lake City and later at Hunt’s Drug store in Houghton Lake until her retirement.
She was a member of the Merritt-Butterfield United Methodist Church.
She liked to go camping, working in her flowers, knitting, and quilting. She enjoyed being with the grandchildren and having them visit whenever she could. She loved being outside and taking long walks. She was a great cook and invited family and friends over for many dinners. She also loved anything chocolate.
Nadine will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, parents, Walter and Audrey Hunt, sister, Julie Bowman, brother-in-law, David Jordan, sister-in-law, Carol Hunt, and nieces, Debbie Clonan and Lori Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Connie) Norby; daughter, Susan (Mike) Wallington; grandchildren, Benjamin, Scott, Mollie, Elizabeth, and Audrey; Great granddaughters, Logan, Ashlyn, and Madeline, Great-grandson, Lincoln; brother, Walter Hunt Jr., sisters, Carla Johnson, and Jill (Arnie) Weiss, brother-in-law, Lee Bowman; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
